American Red Cross – Basic Life Support

The purpose of the  American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) program is to ensure that healthcare providers have the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. The course emphasizes active, hands-on learning and uses scenario activities to help participants learn how to provide CPR, use an AED and relieve an obstructed airway for adult, child and infant patients. This course gives you the flexibility to complete part of your training online through our dynamic Simulation Learning experience, which combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions, so you can earn your BLS certification your way.

BLS online courses are easy to access and easy to complete. In order to begin, all you need to do is make sure that you have internet access to complete the online work, and complete the hands-on skills.

Online BLS classes are divided into interactive modules that you can take as your schedule permits. The adaptive learning functionality allows you to follow a personalized learning path which gives experienced participants the option to test out of a lesson, or test out of specific topics within a lesson, resulting in reduced overall class time. In addition, you’ll receive unlimited two-year access to the course materials – including a free digital Basic Life Support Participant’s Manual, so you can choose to take as much or as little time you need to get through the classes.

Upon successful completion of the free online course, if you’d like to sign up for a skills check, you may do so at one of these locations.
